Yep. That’s right. Brimstone will be free for five days this weekend. And, why will it be free for a limited time, you ask. Well, that would be because Dragon’s Flame will be released Wednesday. Whoo hoo!! I’m so freaking happy! If I were any happier, I’d have to sit on my hands to keep from clapping (yeah, I know I stole that from a coffee mug but it doesn’t make it any less true). So, to give y’all a peek at the book to get you ready for the release. Here is an excerpt from book three. This takes place toward the middle of the book since the beginning is kinda depressing and it’s from Raynon’s POV. I tried to use something with Genivieve in it but she goes through so much transition in this book I couldn’t find even a small excerpt that didn’t contain some kind of spoiler in it. Hope you Enjoy!!
Raynon was once again in his office trying to find a way to convince the council to go to war with the Elves. He was tired of waiting. He knew that bastard had something to do with Petal’s disappearance. He could be holding her hostage right now and nothing was being done about it. His phone rang.
“Raynon Dubhshaine,” he said as greeting.
“Prince Dubhshaine. My name is Alice Johnson and I own a pub in Mobile. You do not know me but I have called to give warning. Your mate is not dead but part of her is gone. She is currently being held captive but not by the enemy. Trust in your instincts because you will need them in the days to come.” She paused then said. “I think you should check on your head of security. I wish you a good day.” And then she hung up.
Raynon sat staring at the receiver for a moment before hanging it up. What did that mean? If Petal is not being held captive by the enemy then who has her? Why would she want him to check on Nic? He didn’t know but he wasn’t going to shirk her advise. If he did and something happened to his mate, he would go to the next plane knowing he killed her.
He left his office and went into the main foyer. Douglas was standing close to the corridor leading to the back of the castle and the stairs leading to the holding cells.
“Douglas, have you seen Nic? He isn’t answering his radio,” Raynon said.
Douglas looked away then back. “He is questioning someone, Sire.”
“Who? Why wasn’t I notified?”
“Uh, Ah have been given a direct order, Sire. Ah cannot answer yer questions but Ah would suggest ye look in the holding cells for Nic.”
Raynon narrowed his eyes at the man. Did he just tell him that Nic ordered him not to tell Raynon about a prisoner being brought in? He was going to have a talk with his head of security. He started down the stairs and just as he reached the bottom he heard a scream.
“Please, help me!!”
It was his Petal. He opened a portal inside the last cell. A man was standing in the cell holding a syringe and his mate was on the bed pushed into the corner begging for him not to hurt her. Mate, Serval said. Someone was going to die.
