Review Exchange

Happy Thursday everyone. I hope everybody’s enjoying the super hot sun like I have been the last couple of days. I wanted to let you know about a new thing I will be doing throughout the summer. Review exchanges. I don’t know if there is already a website dedicated to this. Perhaps I’m the last to know about the newest and greatest thing (it wouldn’t be the first time) but I thought this would be a good way to read some knew material I might not have found otherwise and at the same time get some more reviews posted on my books.

Basically, I’ve created a page dedicated to review exchanges. If you or someone you know is an Indie author and writes Science Fiction, Fantasy, and/or Romance, you can fill out the form and I would be willing to buy your book and write an honest review on it. I’ll be buying and reviewing through Amazon and will also post a review on Goodreads and here on this site. As part of the exchange you will buy one of my books and leave an honest review of it on Amazon and Goodreads. If you have a site you would like to post the review on, by all means go for it.

The point of this exercise is to earn reviews for myself and other Indie authors. Customer reviews can really make or break a book. I remember looking for books to read long before I ever published my first and one of the main things I checked were the customer reviews. Ironically enough, I hardly ever actually wrote a customer review. I’m ashamed to say that even if I absolutely loved the book, I wouldn’t take the time to write a review on it. Now as an author I realize the importance of those reviews and never read a book without writing a review. I don’t give every book a five star rating because that would be cheating and I feel that only those who deserve five stars get it. But even if a book deserved a four star rating I would still take the time to explain why I thought so because a review is a review.

I’ll also be wrangling my friend/beta reader, Christine, into helping me post reviews. We will be working together as Team S. L. Gavyn to try to read and review as many books as possible throughout the summer.

A quick note. I lied. Yes, you heard me. I admit it. I first planned to take off the previous posts of Fable Freebie Friday but instead I just created a page for them. So if you aren’t up to date with the story and would like to read what I have so far just check out the page “Fabled”. Another installment will be posted tomorrow and I’ll tell you, I’ve written quite a bit this week.

Have a good one. I’ll see y’all tomorrow.
